At the heart of Kaposvár is Kossuth square, which was redeveloped in 2003.With its spectacular fountains and flowers it is one of the highlights of the city.

The Roman Catholic " Nagyboldogasszony" was rebuilt in 1886 in New Roman Style. It was elevated to cathedral status in 1993 when Kaposvár become a bishop's seat. 

The Town Hall a beautiful Neo-Renaissance building, was constructed between 1902 and 1903. It boasts ornate stone balustrades, glass windows, an impressive oak panelled Great Hall, a spectacular staircase and a tower 40 metres high. 

In 1911 the statue of Lajos Kossuth- by the sculptor János Kopits- was erected in the square named after this famous politician. 

The beautiful Neo-Renaissance Kemény Palace was built in 1904.There used to be a music school in the first floor but, it has been the city's Tourist information Office, since 1992. 

The Rippl-Rónai Museum dating from 1832 is one of the most beautiful examples of Hungarian Classicist architecture. It served as the County Hall until 1983 and now houses the Directorate of Somogy County Museums and the Rippl-Rónai Museums.

Gergely Csiky Theatre - Berzsenyi park - Vaszary park - City park

The Gergely Csiky Theatre completed in 1911, it is one of the most beautiful Art Nouveau buildings in the city and has been run with a permanent company since 1955. The theatre remains one of the most influential in Hungary.

In the Berzsenyi park there are several statues like The Angel of Freedom, the statue of István Németh, the Memorial column of the 44th regiment commemorates past military glories. The Zsolnay Well was restored and sited in the centre of the park in 2001.

The first smart and green  park (Vaszary) of Kaposvár was opened in 2019. The park has more attractions and leisure facilities: puppet-show, picturesque thematic playground with carved fabled statues of wood-carver artist, Kő Boldizsár, outdorr gym park, recycling bins, lake, waterworks, sunbeds. 

Tranquility and recreation awaits visitors at the City park just 10 minutes from the centre. The Mill-lake and its surroundings is a popular recreational area. The park is an ideal venue for sport activities. You may test your abilities on the outdoor gmy park, the running circle, the roller skate park, the streetball - basketball-football and on the parkour field. Another novelty of the City Park is a 40 metres long and 1 metre wide Barefooted Aromatic Walking-path. We can walk here on various materials like stone, wood, cone or corn-cob.
